Our Kindergarten Bridge Program is designed to meet the needs of the five year old child who would like to wait a year before starting kindergarten. Instead of repeating four year old pre-kindergarten curriculum, a special program has been designed to begin kindergarten concepts along with other more age appropriate and challenging learning manipulatives.

The Kindergarten Program emphasizes strong basic skills through the use of effective programs by Saxon and Bob Jones.
We have information available about the effectiveness of their programs, which achieves excellence not only in phonics, but also in basic math concepts through drills, practice, and manipulatives.
The program also integrates computation, application and problem- solving concepts. It is our goal to provide children with the opportunities to reach full potential, to perform basic addition/subtraction computations, solve basic word problems and apply problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, as well as develop socially and emotionally.

Note:
What an important and exciting opportunity you have as you consider a new school. We are thrilled that you are interested in The Cedars Preparatory Academy. We encourage you to carefully align your goals with that of a school. We are committed to giving your child a superior academic program in a safe and loving environment. We will work as a team with parents to encourage students to perform at their highest level.
We provide a safe, secure learning environment that lays the foundation for academic achievement. All children require a safe learning environment with controlled boundaries in order to grow, learn, and flourish. We work with a great amount of determination to make this happen. In the planning stages of building this school on this location, it was important that when a child walked through the front door it felt more like a home than a school. That is why we have a living room with a fireplace along with art work that reflects a warm, inviting home. Our goal has been to make a child’s transition from being at home to spending his day in a school as smooth and comfortable as possible. We believe we have accomplished that goal.
We all know, though, that a comfortable house does not provide all the needs of each child’s security. A loving, secure environment is made through a school staff that respects and deeply cares for each child. Our goal is that every staff member knows every students name. It is important to us, and most importantly, to each child to be known and loved as he or she is being educated. There was an alarming UCLA study. Of over 1,000 public schools surveyed, teachers averaged a total of seven minutes daily in personal exchanges with their students. This would allow for no more than one or two personal responses for each student. We can assure you that this is not common place here. Our students know their teacher will care for them and place them in an environment that is safe for them.
School is the place where children will spend many hours of their day and will be influenced, either positively or negatively, and be taught a biased view, whether it is yours or not, of this society. This will probably be where they will get their world view, whether yours or not, where they will learn decision making skills, and where they will decide who and what are important in life. You, as parents, should be well informed consumers when it comes to your children’s education.
I sometimes liken The Cedars Preparatory Academy option to riding first class on an airplane. The plane will arrive at a certain place, at a certain time, whether you ride in the front of the plane or the back. As a first class passenger, however you can expect more individualized attention in a smaller grouping, you are given more options to better your experience on the plane, your ability to leave the plane in a better condition physically and mentally are enhanced, and the people around you desire the same benefits. It is the experience that makes the difference. We offer a first class experience here at The Cedars Preparatory Academy. Thank you for your time in visiting our facilities and meeting our staff. If there are any further questions, please feel free to ask me today or call later. We would be honored to talk to you in more detail about our school.
